Do you absolutely dread Valentine’s Day and all things romance when you’re single? I’m hoping your answer is no, but in case you blurted out a quick “yes!”, let’s try to change your mind. Let me start by saying I totally understand if you’re not a fan of this holiday and that I’ve never been as huge of a Valentine’s Day fan myself, single or not. What changed, you ask? My mindset. I can either let it get to me and be miserable or I can also find ways to celebrate love, since that’s what it’s all about anyway! 

I really enjoy watching Tiktoks about romanticizing every little moment in life and this post is essentially in favor of that. Because let’s be real here… self-love is an essential prerequisite to loving someone else and until we love ourselves (like really love ourselves), we’ll likely struggle with loving a significant other.

So, do you want to know what it looks like to date yourself? I got you, friend! 
  1. Go for a walk, run, yoga class, or gym and move your body.
  2. Reward yourself by grabbing your favorite smoothie or smoothie bowl.
  3. Do your full skincare routine and if you haven’t established one yet, try something new.
  4. Enjoy cooking? Make your favorite dish while listening to jazz and sipping on red wine. If cooking isn’t your thing, order from your favorite restaurant or try a new place!
  5. End your night with a nice bubble bath while burning a candle and watching your favorite show or movie!
